The Rising Sun was formed during the Fête de la Musique 2012. The group is composed by Ylias Mikou, Mathis Bouveret-Akengin, Linaël Carmont and Victor Guillaume.

They started playing covers of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton and their repertoire then expanded. The change of the bass player in November 2013 took the group to another direction and to a new music style. From that moment on, they started to play Ylias's compositions: a repertoire characterized by a very '70es Jimi Hendrix-inspired blues-rock, mixed with punk energy, funk vibes and classic influences. This results in a harmony that seduced the jury and the public at Imagine France Final and earned them the International Final in Zagreb.
