Frequently asked questions What is Imagine?
A series of annual music competitions established by JMI. The competition is managed by local JMI organisations on a regional and national level. The qualified national applicants participate in the international final.
Where is Imagine?
In Europe (Belgium, Croatia, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Sweden) and Africa (Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe). In 2011 Imagine looks to expand its reach to all continents.
Who can participate?
Anyone between 12 - 25 years old (with variations from country to country).
What are its aims?
To discover, educate and promote young and fresh talent. Imagine creates professional opportunities for all involved in the process through trainings, workshops and international exchange.
Which music genres does it promote?
Anything goes: pop, rock, electro, jazz, classical, hip hop, ska, world, punk and everything else in between!

Is Imagine sustainable and safe?
Imagine 2011 strives to be as green as possible serving fairtrade refreshments, placing an emphasis on recycling, sustainability and global citizenship. Imagine will be campaigning for Safe Sound in 2011, taking on the responsibility to ensure that young people are not only protected at our festivals but are well informed of the dangers of excessive sound levels.
What can you win?
Prizes, tours, exposure, experience, skills, confidence, friends and much more. It’s a unique chance for any ambitious young artist to test his/her skills, get professional feedback, advice and training to start or improve a career as a musician.
What do we look for?
